Carla Moleiro

Carla Moleiro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Psychology and Organizations of the School of Social and Human Sciences of ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, United States of America, in 2003. Initially, she was specialized in Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Lisbon and as a psychotherapist at the Portuguese Association of Therapies Behavioral and Cognitive. She has developed clinical and research work on complex disorders and double diagnoses, and personality disorders. Over the past 10 years, she was been researching in the areas of mental health for stigmatized minorities and vulnerable populations, such as immigrants, refugees, ethnic minorities, religious minorities, and sexual minorities (LGBT), working on Mental Health, Diversity and Multiculturalism, as well as clinical skills for individual and cultural diversity. Her work also includes issues of Community Psychology, Ethics, and intervention with populations at risk and protection of at-risk children and youth (and their families). She is currently director and researcher at the ISCTE-IUL Center for Research and Social Intervention (CIS-IUL).
